How To: Connect with a Partner

This is a great exercise that takes connection to subterranean level (literally).  In order to have a solid connection with a partner, it’s imperative to be grounded in my center. This is level .01 – fundamental information that lays the foundation for much more complex partnering.  Plus…as with all dance – it’s a great metaphor for connecting in all relationships.

How wonderful! I feel such a positive energy just looking at this video. Mindfully connecting to the mother earth, oneself, and the partner. Then, music becomes a vehicle for deeper connection and expression.

My Tango friend in Buenos Aires once taught me that it is possible to connect with your partner without even touching.
Then dancing in embrace became so much richer.

Thank you for posting this, Mary. I will share it with my friends.

Wow, this surprised me. Knowing how hard it was for me (Lianne) to do improv dancing around others, this group looks so connected & fluid! You can visually see the benefits of what you’ve been doing with them over time . . . congratulations! And the connection techniques, the opening visualization, I really really like it as an energy practice! We’ll try it!
